Good ISP - Important Step to Affiliate Marketing

Hi! After months of not blogging, here I am again! Right now I am not in a happy mood as my internet connection is a mess. Guess what my ISP is? SMART Bro! I mean SMART Bro-ken...Yes, I have the lousy service from Smart or should I say Stupid?

Well, let me tell you that as an affiliate marketer, my internet connection is very important to me because everything I do is connected to the internet. For example, to update my google adwords account, I need an internet connection. But not just an ISP, but a good one. A consistent one in its good service. Unfortunately, I did not find that in SMART Bro.

Let me tell you my short story today on why I wrote this blog. This Saturday afternoon, I am supposed to be doing my affiliate marketing 'tasks'. But then doing these tasks is truly becoming a chore with my stupid internet connection from 'SMART' Bro. Everything is so slow! It feels as if I am using a dial-up connection. Even getting to login to my blog was really sluggish. I actually had no intent of blogging today, but I really wanted to share to the world the stupidity of SMART.

I guess my point is that if you are an affiliate marketer in the Philippines, DO NOT USE SMART BRO. Period.

Smart Bro Chronicles

I started using Smart Wifi(former name of Smart Bro) last year, 2005, around this time of the year. At that time, it was still a fairly new technology(if you call it a technology at all, I'll explain later) in the Philippines and was only months after its birth.

At first, the service was good. I could surf the web, read my mails and do what you normally do on the internet. Then after one week, the true colors of the service hovered to the surface. I experienced intermittent connections and most of the time no connection at all! Since the service was quite new, I thought that this was normal. I then called the "24/7 readily available customer service" of Smart. They answered my questions and "guided" me with their crappy ways to find out the problem and deliver a solution. Since I am a Computer Science graduate, I am quite familiar with computers and sensed that the customer service reps didn't know anything about fixing the connection problems. This went on and on, and almost everyday, I'll be talking with their almost useless customer reps.

Well, I am not here to further destroy their already lousy customer service image but here to tell that their DSL service has improved(not the customer service...). It all began with the 'Milenyo' typhoon. I am not sure how it happened but since that typhoon, everything has been going good. I have got a good connection and I am no longer complaining =)! Fortunately enough, 'Reming' didn't undo any of the good stuff 'Milenyo' brought. Keep on doing this and I won't go on looking for another DSL service.
