Pacific Gyre is the place where albatross chicks die early because of eating plastic. No, plastic is not their staple food but instead, those plastics are what we throw in the ocean as pollution.

These albatross chicks mistake the plastic for food. From cigarette lighters to bottle caps, the plastic is found in what is now known as the great Pacific garbage patch that stretches across thousands of miles of the Pacific Ocean.
