The DC sniper, John Allen Muhammad, has been executed by lethal injections on Tuesday. He was the mastermind behind the Washington-area sniper attacks of 2002 that terrorized the nation's capital was declared dead at 9:11 p.m. ET.
"There were no complications; Mr. Mohammad was asked if he wished to make a last statement," Traylor, director of communications for the Virginia Department of Corrections. "He did not acknowledge this or make a last statement whatsoever."
Taking one's life to satisfy justice demands is surely controversial. But in the case, it surely would heal some wounds that were left open for a couple of years and hopefully would serve as a warning to other criminals.
